Brookhaven was developed in 1910 as Atlanta's first country club neighborhood. It is in Dekalb County, located directly north of Buckhead. Sandy Springs is directly to the west, Chamblee is to the northeast, and I-285 to the to the north. Brookhaven is an elegant enclave of large Tudor, Colonial, Georgian, and English cottage homes. Peachtree and Peachtree-Dunwoody roads provide easy access, as does the Brookhaven MARTA rail station. Lenox Square and PhippsPlaza offer luxurious shopping less than a mile away.

Driving down Dresden shows you just how much this area is growing in popularity, as well as population! Recently, there has been development on all ends from the mixed use areas on Dresden to the two public housing areas that have been torn down to make way for more residential development (along Ashford-Dunwoody Road across from Blackburn Park & the new Brookhaven Village, off of Peachtree Rd).

Brookhaven Village is a state-of-the-art mixed-use development in Atlanta's Brookhaven community, conveniently situated on Peachtree Road, north of Lenox Square Mall and Phipps Plaza and adjacent to historic Oglethorpe University.
The project will consist of approximately 600,000 square feet of big box retail, Jr. anchors, restaurants and boutiques, as well as more than 1,500 residential units. This remarkable center Sembler is creating is an innovative, intensely landscaped, pedestrian-friendly urban village, built for convenience and accessibility.
Sembler assembled four separate parcels to create Brookhaven Village. This is a smart growth project that creates a sense of community while being respectful of the environment and surrounding neighborhoods. Construction recently commenced and opening is slated for Spring 2009.

There are two golf courses in Brookhaven: The Capital City Club and Peachtree Golf Club (linked on side). Homes surrounding the Capital City Club are anywhere from 800,000 to 4,000,000. Brookhaven is home to Oglethorpe University. Public elementary schools include Dresden Elementary, Montgomery Elementary, and Ashford Park Elementary. Private schools include Our Lady of the Assumption Catholic Elementary School and St. Martin in the Fields Episcopalian Elementary School, as well as a private Catholic high school, the Marist School.
